Growing a successful roofing business is about more than just being skilled in your trade. While there are many roofing pros out there, not all of them have the skills in marketing, sales and administration to make their business work. Ask for Referrals

One of the best ways to find roofing leads is through word of mouth and guess what, it’s completely free! Your customers are your best source of marketing. Potential customers hearing first hand from a friend or family member about your service, creates a much stronger connection in their mind and makes them much more likely to actually use your service. After you finish a job, ask your customers to give a review or send a referral. If you have an online presence through a website, or other service like yelp, ask them to give you a review. Even better, ask if they’ll refer you to other customers who may have similar projects they need help with. Having reviews from previous customers gives new customers an idea of the service they will be receiving and helps you to gain their trust. After all, trust is a huge part in securing your leads.

Find Other Contractors to Partner With

It’s always a good idea to be surrounded by other professionals in your field. Whether you need help with a job, or have questions about something specific to your trade, having a network of people you can turn to is helpful for your business. Not only is it helpful for your personal roofing knowledge but it also gives you another avenue for roofing lead generation. Other professionals could provide a referral to your business if they are unable to take the job.

Audit Your Sales Process

Running your own business can seem overwhelming. There’s a lot more to manage than just the individual job. With clients, employees, and bills sometimes the details can fall between the cracks.   • Referrals: We can’t hone in on this enough. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to get construction leads. Reviews from previous customers give new customers an idea of the service they will be receiving and helps you to gain their trust. After all, trust is a huge part of securing your leads. Anytime you complete a job, reach out to your customers and ask them to give a review or send a referral. 
  • Leads in Your Community: Don’t forget about your own community! The network of people around you is your support system as a small business. The people in your own community can be the best way to generate roofing leads. They’re more likely to want an experienced professional they trust from their own community. 
  • Use a Lead Generation Company: If all else fails, or if you simply do not have the manpower, you can use a lead generation company and outsource this process.
